Body Composition – Skinfold Assessments

Our certified anthropometrist uses advanced skinfold techniques to provide you with precise insights into your body composition.

This service caters to a diverse spectrum of individuals, from athletes at any level to those seeking to elevate their overall physical health. Understanding your body’s distinctive composition will allow you to monitor changes over time, informing adjustments to your training regimen, exercise program, dietary requirements, and lifestyle choices—all geared towards sustaining physical performance, health and preventing injury.

This service uses Harpenden skinfold calipers to measure skinfold thickness in a quick and non-invasive manner. All skinfold measures are performed by International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) certified and trained anthropometrist.

The skinfold assessment will measure stature, body mass, skinfold at 8 sites (Biceps, Triceps, Subscapular, Iliac Crest, Supraspinale, Abdominal, Medial Calf, Front thigh), circumference at 5 sites (arm when relaxed, arm when tensed, waist, hip and calf) and breadths of 2 bones (femur and humerus) to provide you with measures of:

Height, Weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist/Hip Ratio, Body Fat Percentage, Sum of 8 Skinfolds and Somatotype profiling (assessment of body shape).

Following your assessment, you will be provided with a personalised report with your results.

We recommend booking a re-test following a minimum of 6 weeks.  For 2nd bookings conducted within 12 months of first, we offer a discounted re-test price of £63
