Meet the Team

Dr Lesley Sharpe

Lesley is a qualitative researcher with expertise in participatory research with marginalised young people, specifically around the participation of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Physical Education (PE) and youth sport. It is through her research Lesley developed her skills as an illustrator and has since completed several illustrated projects for the Youth Sport Trust, Access Sport, Street Games, The Peter Harrison Centre for Disability Sport, Loughborough University, Leeds Beckett University and the FIBA Foundation. Lesley’s infographic work has been published in The British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) and presented internationally at the International Conference on Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise and the British Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (BSPRM) and British Association of Spinal Cord Injury Specialists (BASCIS) Joint Annual Meeting.
